Hi, I’m Josephine! I am a graphic designer, who also bakes a lot, who also styles events. I do a lot of things that involve being creative.

I’m a self taught baker and started playing in the kitchen when I was a young child -baking with my grandmother and mother. I’ve always had an interest in making beautiful, delicious desserts for my family and friends. Out of everything I have baked, the french macaron has been my favorite treat. There is an art to making macarons, and it took me a while to get here. After plenty of encouragement from my family and friends, along with years of trial & error, I’ve decided to start my own business; Baked by Josephine.

Over the years I have expanded dessert offerings to meet the demand of my customers – and because I love creating beautiful, delicious desserts. I have a passion for all things delicious and am excited to offer you a variety of desserts that are appealing to your eye and your palette!

Baked By Josephine desserts are made fresh to order, in small batches with no preservatives. I strive to use local ingredients based around each season to create unique, custom flavors.

As of April 2018, my family is relocating back to lower MI! Baked By Josephine is now located in Metro-Detroit and offering baking service to the surrounding area.

What is a


A macaron is a sweet meringue-based confection made with egg whites, almond flour and sugar. The macaron shells are light and airy, with a thin crunchy texture on the outside and are slightly chewy inside. The macaron shells are commonly filled with ganache, buttercream or jam.

  • “Are macarons gluten free?”

    Yes, every ingredient used in french macarons is naturally gluten free.

  • “How long are macarons good for?”

    They are best when eaten at room temperature. If you are going to save them for later, keep them in your fridge in an air tight container, up to a week. Or you can freeze them up to three months.

  • “Do you cater to weddings or other events?”

    Yes! Macarons are perfect for special occasions. Please contact me for more information or visit my Wedding page.
